Lady Godiva

After buying and washing my hair with the gorgeous solid shampoo Godiva, I was intrigued as to the story of Lady Godiva. She was married to the Earl of Mercia, who wanted to create even higher taxes. She plead with her husband to lower the taxes. He agreed on the condition that she would ride through the streets of Coventry with nothing but her flowing locks to clothe her. She announced tat all villagers must stay indoors, with shutters across the windows as she rode through. However one townsman, a tailor named tom, was watching through a small hole he carved into his shutter. he was struck blind at the sight of her, hence the term 'Peeping Tom'.
