And with this power she can see through solid objects like you and me

Sadly I was far too slow to get tickets for Jamie T at the electric ballroom. Devastated as it's one of my favourite place, despite the seediness :) Zanes show was pretty immense the other day as he also played Maccabees and the new Jack Penate song Buying Wall of Arms when I get money They're also playing Ballroom

Skins

Yesterday I watched episodes 5 and 6 of Skins, which I'd missed whilst in Edinburgh I love to read Edward Gibbon's blog, who is the costume designer on Skins. Its a great insight into how he chooses the outfits and how they link to the characters lives, and also ideas on how to play with your own style. I love Freddie's 'Dreamer' T-shirt. My heart melted when he swam to Effy. 'The wishy washy slightly tie dyed t- shirt from American Apparel suits this romantic dreamer down to the ground, with its calming clouds wafting across his chest.' But the clothes in Naomi's episode were my favourites. It seems she can pull any outfit off, as well as making a statement along the way. I squealed to see her Vivienne Westwood 'Leonard Peltier is Innocent' T-shirt, and then turned green with envy And those leggings! Where can I get a pair? I thought American Apparel with their Afrika print It was also a delight to see Bob Fossil as a Sexx Bomb judge. Classic. If I had read closer before I would know the leggings are by Marjan Pejoski. 'My favourite item she wears in episode six is her wildly patterned Marjan Pejoski leggings. The print is amazing and kind of looks like something an Aztec warrior would wear. Her ‘oh so slightly worthy’ dungarees are given a twist by finishing just below her bum and the leggings are the perfect foil to any lecherous teachers with wandering eyes. ' And Cook's outfit screamed The Clash 'Cook’s election outfit is a perfect blend of revolutionary South American and Joe Strummer of the Clash/Westwood Seditionaries'

Existential Crisis

Derived from Existentialism, is the psychological panic and discomfort experienced when a human confronts questions of existence. This phenomenon, presumably, is common to technologically-advanced cultures, wherein physical survival is not life's priority.

An existential crisis results from:

  • The sense of being alone and isolated,
  • Grasping one's mortality; a belief that there is no afterlife or that the afterlife is negative; and
  • Believing that one's life has no purpose or external meaning.
I thought I was fine but maybe I've been fooling myself all this time I seem to have reverted back to my old ways of feeling inadequate, like a complete loser, alone and caring, really caring It actually matters I know it's only teenage angst, but it doesn't make it any easier Even when I'd found someone who understood me, or didn't care that they couldn't, it seems I'm even more deluded than previously thought. They don't understand me either Or find it charming or exciting They don't want to understand me Or discover my deepest, darkest and most beautiful thoughts I want to know all these things about them Understand their mysterious ways Know what they are thinking It's not just this one person. It's the people, the friends, I am closest to. It seems even they misunderstand me. No they don't I don't tell them anything for them to misinterpret. Well I do obviously, but not the feelings i so desperately want to share. I sometimes find with girls that they are so worried about upsetting one another that they feel they must constantly reassure, when all you want them to do is just listen. Not say that your being silly and are a good and beautiful person You want them to listen And Actually I guess I want them to say they feel the same way too But when you're friends are beautiful, popular and lovely people they don't They don't share your emotions No one does. You are entirely your own person. In fact, I don't even understand myself so how can I expect so much of others?! I'm questioning what my life is about What will I do in the future Will I get into St Martins? Will it be for the best? What afterwards? Will I make it to the final show? Will I become a successful designer? Will I be a happy one? Or a lonely one? Will I meet like minded people, who aren't too cool to be seen with me? Will I find that one person who does understand me, or makes being understood seem irrelevant? Will I ever stop worrying about the future and asking ridiculous answerless questions?! End of yet another self-indulgent rant

Head of Plumes and Crimson Ostrich Feathers

'The ostrich feather is durable, soft and flexible, which accounts for the success of the ostrich feather duster over the last 100 years. Because the feather does not zipper together it is prone to developing a static charge which actually attracts and holds dust which can then be shaken out or washed off. Because of its similar makeup to human hair, care of the ostrich feather requires only an occasional shampoo and towel or air dry. The farming of ostriches for their feathers does not harm the bird. During molting season the birds are gathered in a pen, burlap sacks are placed over their heads so they will remain calm and trained pickers pluck the loose molting feathers from the birds. The birds are then released unharmed back onto the farm.' Make long vest top and iron on frankenstein transfer, team with skinnys and heels, or sparkly black pumps?
