Clara

I had a lovely day today although it was the first day of school. Period 4 and 5 were frees so I sat outside and sunbathed. Cindy and I stayed behind at school after period 5 talking. It was lovely to talk properly, alone for a few hours even though we really should have gone home. When I arrived back home a letter from darling Clara had arrive! I was so thrilled! There is something so precious and personal about a letter, especially when most communicate long distance through email and Facebook. I wrote back immediately, although I wrote so much it took an hour and a half. I miss her and Daniela desperately and cannot wait to see them in Frankfurt this summer. Today I wore my favourite new 50s skirt that I bought for £8 at a carboot sale, although I had to restitch the side seam and take down the dodgy hem. I have decided it is lucky as when I wore it to Salisbury I bagged 4 60s Crimplene dresses at a charity shop and a 50s wastepaper bin, and today has been such a lovely day.

My New Coat!

I went shopping again on Saturday with Daniela and Clara and called in on a vintage shop and instantly fell for a velvet 1950s evening coat with fabric flowers sitched at the collar. I now owe my Mum £35 and am not too sure where that money's coming from... But it was worth it!

On why she called everyone "darling"- "Because all my life I've been terrible at remembering people's names. Once I introduced a friend of mine as 'Martini'. Her name was actually 'Olive'." Tallulah Bankhead

New York! New York!

So I'm back at Sixth Form AND we're going to New York! There's a trip with the art department to New York and San Francisco in the Easter and I cannot wait! I'm already checking out the vintage shops! If anyone can suggest any great places to visit, please do! Thee are always those classic shots of the highrise buildings but i really want to see the people and the streets. And the graffiti Cannot wait! Did I already say that? :D

Prom!

We arrived on a London bus

I wore a 1950's vintage dress with a petticoat (from Brick Lane), Accesorize bag, heels and my Helpless Romantic dove necklace I got the day before for my birthday! I was worried the necklace was a bit too quirky but I think it worked! My hair took 2 hours to do and I was almost late as I still hadn't got dressed or done my make up!

It was an amazing night and everyone looked really glamorous!

I got Coke on my dress (hence the toilet photo!) but luckily it was returned from the drycleaners today spic and span!

Well I've been to Brick lane the second time this year in search of vintage accessories and a petticoat for my prom!

So I didn't find any accessories but I did find a petticoat!

my first trip to Brick Lane was with my friend Emily in March which was amazing!
We shopped so hard we forgot to eat!

we went to beyond retro which was amazing! its a giant warehouse packed with vintage clothes

i was street spotted for a london street style section in a magazine which i was so pleased with! but sadly i wasnt old enough and didnt think to lie when they asked if i was over 18! im not a quick thinker........

we went to ladyluckrulesok and i bought a unicorn necklace and also bought some HUGE 60s flower earrings from another shop which i havent dared to wear yet but will be great for dressing up parties! i didn't take any photos this time round but here are some of the first trip!
